Privacy policy

This website is run by Propeller Accounting. We collect and hold the information described here. This policy explains what we collect through the website, what we do with it and how you can see or correct it, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What this website collects

When you send an enquiry through the contact form we collect what you type into it: your name, email address, phone number, your message and your answers to the other questions on the form. The website also records the date and time, the page the form was sent from, and the IP address and country of the device that sent it, which helps us keep spam out.

Giving us this information is your choice, but we cannot reply to an enquiry without a way to contact you.

What we use it for

We use your enquiry to reply to you, including an automatic acknowledgement by email, and to provide the quote, advice or service you asked about. The website does not pass your details to anyone else for their own use.

Where it is kept and who helps us run the site

Your enquiry is emailed to us and a copy is kept in the website's private enquiry record, so that nothing is lost if an email goes astray. These service providers handle the information on our behalf:

• Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores the enquiry record.
• Mailgun, which delivers the enquiry email to us and the acknowledgement to you.
• Click n Call, the agency that built and looks after this website for us, which can see enquiry records when it is supporting us.

Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand.

We also use Google Analytics, described below. Google collects visitor statistics for us and also uses that information for its own purposes, as set out in its own policy.

Cookies and visitor statistics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are small files stored by your browser, and collects information such as the pages you view, the type of device you use, your approximate location, and whether you tap our phone number or email link or send the form. It does not receive what you type into the contact form. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can block cookies in your browser settings. The website works the same without them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for our business records.

Seeing or correcting your information

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. To do either, call us on 021 227 3829 or use the contact form. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
